Services for Bob J. Ward, 46, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Gardens, Osawatomie.

Mr. Ward died Saturday, September 11, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born July 9, 1947, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Merle and Catherine Perry Ward.  He attended Lawrence Public Schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965.  He played varsity baseball and American Legion baseball there.

Mr Ward was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 101 in Topeka.  He helped coach Douglas County Amateur Baseball and bowled in the Big Eight League.

He married Rise Barnes on November 24, 1973, in Osawatomie.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Jim, of the home; his parents, Lawrence; a sister, Sandra Ward, Wichita; two brothers Darrel, Lawrence and Ken, San Jose, CA.
