Graveside services with military honors for John R. "J.R." Stanwix, 59, Hereford, AZ, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mr. Stanwix died Sunday, Judy 9, 2006 at his home.

He was born March 13, 1947, in Lawrence, the son of Clayton Clement and Betty Irene Edgar Stanwix.  He graduated in 1965 from Lawrence High School, where he played football, He later attended college and became an anesthesia technician.

Mr. Stanwix served in the U.S. Air force from 1968 to 1971 and attained the rank of sergeant.

Survivors include his mother, Lawrence; two sons, Chris, Newalla, OK, and Michael, CT; a daughter, Amanda Stanwix, Phoenix; two brothers, Gary and Dale, both of Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and his life partner, Wanda Costilli, of the home.

                                              

Those of us attending the 40th Reunion in 2005 had the opportunity to enjoy J.R. one last time.  Till our next reunion, friend.
