EDUCATION/WORK
Publishers' Sales Representative
LIFE
In addition to my "day job" as a sales representative for several publishers (which means I sell their books to independent bookstores all over northern California--by the way one of the publishers I represent is the University Press of Kansas, based in Lawrence!) I am also a sculptor, a painter and a jewelry maker. if you are interested in seeing my creative work, please check out my web site: www.anneshulenberger.com (please note--my name must be spelled right).
My husband Dieter is originally from Germany. We love to travel and we recently went on a vacation to Germany and other parts of Europe. My son lives in Japan, where he's teaching English at a high school near Tokyo. We visited him there in 2002 and we also took a tour of China then, since we were in that neck of the woods!
I went to college in the Boston area (Brandeis University) and lived around there until 1972 when I moved to the San Francisco Bay area, where I have stayed ever since. My family moved away from Lawrence in 1967, so I hadn't been back for many years when I returned for a visit in 2001. I thought that Lawrence looked really good, especially the downtown area and the old KU campus. I was amazed by the changes to Lawrence High School--the swimming pool, etc.! It was good to show my husband where I'd spent my formative years.
I wish I could have come to the reunion, but unfortunately it's on the same weekend as a local booksellers' convention which I have to attend for my job. I am interested in finding out more about my former classmates, so I look forward to having a copy of the reunion book!
