Raymond Lee Parsons died Monday, March 23, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 19, 1946, in Fairmont, WV, the son of Lee and Helen Schwartz Parsons.  He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965.

Mr. Parsons was employed at Kansas Color Press for 17 years and Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant until it closed.  He was currently employed with the Lawrence Journal-World, where he recently received his 15 year service pin.

He is survived by his wife, Delores of the home, two stepdaughters, Sharon Stine, Raytown, MO and Yvoune Koleber, McLouth, KS, one stepson, Ervin Statler, Lawrence, KS, his stepparents, Kenneth and Berta Harmon, Lawrence, KS; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
