FAMILY
I have two children Ona and Aaron. I have 6 grandchildren, 2 in Seattle, WA and 4 in Gallup, NM, married to Dave Barr.
EDUCATION/WORK
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Substance Abuse Counselor. I work for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (my tribe). BA from University of Washington in Seattle, MSW from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. I worked for the state of Washington in child welfare for 16 years; 4 years in mental health in Montana and Arizona. I now work for my tribe in addictions on the reservation. Not ready to retire.
LIFE
. I married Bill Streitberger after 2 years of college and moved to Champaign, IL so he could complete his graduate work. He became an Academic. We moved to Seattle, WA where he became (and still is) a professor of English at the University of Washington in Seattle. Traveled a lot around the world, raised 2 kids and survived the 60's and 70's.
I returned to school when my children were old enough to go to school and got my BA in anthropology. I have worked for the Seattle Indian Health Board, the state of Washington, Montana Mental Health and Mohave Mental Health. Bill and I divorced after 30 years of marriage.
I am married again to Dave Barr and we live on the reservation off the grid. We have a small farm and enjoy gardening, home life and simple things. I am healthy and happy. Each day is a gift. I have friends in Lawrence and love an excuse to visit there. I am in great health.
