FAMILY
Married Jean on March 18, 2004. I have one son Brent (37) and my son Ryan is deceased.
EDUCATION/WORK
Attended KU one year. Received a BS from the United States Naval Academy in 1970. Received my MS at University of West Florida in Aeronautical Systems Engineering in 1972.
From 1970 through 1978 I flew jets off aircraft carriers for the US Navy. From 1978 through 2005 I flew jets for Delta Air Lines, retiring in 2005 off the B767-400 while flying back and forth between the mainland and Hawaii.
LIFE
In addition to flying, I also had a home building business for 16 years from which I retired on the death of my first wife. We spent 15 years in the Atlanta area before moving to the mountains of Utah in Park City for the skiing in 1992.
My son, Brent, has just recently moved to Topeka with his family after only ever visiting Kansas once as a child (to one of our reunions). His wife, Jennifer, has just started as COO of a major hospital in Topeka.
Currently, I live part time in Park City, Utah and part time on my boat which is a long range cruising Trawler. We spent two years cruising the Inside Passage to Alaska and then took the boat down the coast to Long Beach and across the ocean to Hawaii. This summer (2008), we cruised about 8000 NM down to and through French Polynesia before returning to Hawaii in August. Next year we plan to return to the Lower 48 and work our way down the West Coast to and through the Panama Canal.

This picture is of the Eslinger men three years ago while cruising the Inside Passage to Alaska. That's me in the middle. My brother, Rich, who is my co-captain and engineer, is on the left. He attended West Junior High in Lawrence. On the right is my son, Brent, who just moved to topeka from Atlanta with his wife.
