LIFE
Wow! It seems like just yesterday I was jumping into my red and black '65 Chevy and cruising out to pick up the gang for a Friday night football game. Enjoying a cool, crisp night while watching the Lions crush yet another unsuspecting team, yelling to the point of exhaustion with my best buds. Staying up late as possible since the weekend was in sight. Could it get any better?!
Memories of Lawrence and my friends at LHS will forever remain special in my heart. I loved the small town atmosphere where doors remained unlocked; where trips to the lake and Friday night bonfires occupied the long hot summers; where we awakened from slumber parties to tp'd trees; where we munched on my Uncle Joe's "Drakes for Bakes" donuts; and where Saturday night parties rocked to the music of our local garage bands while sometimes sneaking a sip of our dad's beer (except, of course our loyal Lions who drank only Mother Nature's milk)! I feel blessed to have had such a secure and loving environment. How lucky we were!
Denny and I have thoroughly enjoyed our last three years of retirement. We try to live each day to it's fullest...traveling, cruising the seas, attending plays and concerts, dancing the night away, visiting with family and friends, boating and fishing on Lake Arrowhead in the summer, sunning at our Palm Desert home in the winter while reading trashy novels and thanking God for our health and good fortune. We have mourned over the loss of loved ones and have embraced new friends and family members while cherishing our old ones. Life is good! (Even though we occasionally rock and roll with a California shaker!)
My love to all of you dear classmates. I will miss you terribly. I hope to make the next big one! God bless you and party hearty at the Fun Fest !!! ROCK OUT!!
