Roger Borland died after being struck by a pickup truck while he was crossing North Third Street on September 22, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 14, 1946, in Lawrence, the sone of Fred and Ruby Borland. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965 and attended Florida State University.
He was an Army ranger during the Vietnam War and then worked at the KMart Distribution Center for 28 years.
He was a chapter member of Fathers Allicance To Have Equal Rights and attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Tyler Borland, California; four daughters, Shelly Teehee, Lawrence, Sherry Chaney, Eudora, and Andrea Borland and Danille Borland both of California; and five grandchildren. A son Tucker died in 1989.
